Kogi: Tribunal Returns David Idris Zacharias as Winner — 22nd August, 2019

The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal on 22nd August, 2019 passed Judgment on House of Representatives, National Assembly Petition by Honorable Emmanuel Makoji Egwu and PDP against Mr. David Idris Zacharias, APC and INEC with Petition number EPT/KG/NASS/HR/03/2019.

David Idris Zacharias who emerged winner for Idah Federal Constituency also won the petition against him on grounds that the petitioners failed to lead credible evidence to prove their case or any of the grounds of their petition and non of the witnesses who testified were polling unit agents on the day of election and seen as hear say evidence which lead to the dismissal of the petition for lacking merit.

The Petitioners provided eight witnesses in total. First respondent, David Idris Zacharias testified for himself. Second respondent did not provide any witness while third respondent provided only one witness.
