Merriam- Webster defines the word optimize as “ to make as perfect, effective, or functional as possible.” This one word can sum up something that most- if not all- successful people do. Successful people optimize their time. They understand that they have 168 hours in a week and 8,736 hours in a year. They use this time as effectively as possible. How do you utilize your 168 hours a week?

Successful people also optimize their network. They truly understand that their network of people is their net worth. Jim Rohn once said that we are all the product of the five people we surround ourselves with most. This is very true. If you are the smartest person in your social circle- you should find a new circle.

Many people are afraid to optimize every aspect of their life. Society has given us these labels such as, “obsessed, addictive and impulsive.” In grade school I was put on medicine because I had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD.) After having two teaching licenses and a Masters Degree in Special Education, I can truly say that I did not have ADHD, I was just bored. I was not optimizing my time. I was not optimizing my network and in return I did not optimize my life. Are you living to your full ability? Only you can answer that- hope you are honest!
