10 Take-Aways From the Marquette Digital Summit

1. Live Tweeting is harder than I thought.

When I was listening to the speakers at the Digital Summit I struggled to live tweet simultaneously. I had to either focus my attention on the speakers or my phone.

2. People check their phone 150+ times per day.

Do you check yours more or less? I found this very interesting. Checking my phone is a habit that I do not even realize I do sometimes.

3. Be a self-starter.

Being a self-starter makes you more ambitious and will put you on a path towards success.

4. Technology changes behavior.

Technology influences the choices we make and the things we do. Technology affects so many apsects of our daily life whether we realize it or not.

5. 11 Ways to Humanize your brand.

Humanizing your brand is important to consumers. This makes them feel like they are dealing with a person not just an organization. Humanizing brands has a positive affect on brand loyalty and trust.

6. Emotion vs. Reason.

Are you emotional or reasonable? Think about this statement before you act the next time you are in a critical situaiton. You might realize the truth in what Donal Calne is saying.

7. The important of change.

Change is very important to creating new landscapes. Change can be the most difficult thing in life but also the most rewarding. Change is always unfamiliar, thus why we call it change. Change is different and challenging, however change is needed to keep on living.

9. Spotify is really really big.

I did not know how large spotify was until we talked about it in class. Apparently it is even larger than I could imagine. Not only is spotify popular but it is smart as well. It knows what music people like and what bands are their favorites. Spotify is dominating the music world.

10. What is the future?

Nobody can predict the future. The future is something that nobody knows what will happen. The future is serendipitous and proactive.
