Buffalo Brothers
The other day Blake and I went to Buffalo brothers, a sports bar with an impressive patio area.
Right off the bat,the atmosphere was great. The place was packed, thanks to their weekly quiz night, and very lively.
We (I) opted to sit out on their huge, well lit patio, and despite being a full course meal for dozens of mosquitoes, it was a nice experience. There were plenty of t.v.s, lighting, seating, and the music was pumping.
The place seemed to be a bit short staffed for the crowd, so our server came out a bit frazzled, understandably, but friendly and helpful. We ordered the fried mozerella, which Blake thought was going to be mozzarella sticks, and I decided on the spinach dip, with the help of the waitress, while Blake had a medium pepperoni pizza.
Even though Blake didn’t like that the fried mozzarella was a basically a block of fried cheese, we both enjoyed it, and I wasn’t bothered by the fact that it wasn’t cheese sticks. It had a nice crust and the sauce was flavorful.
Not long afterwards, our main courses came out.
Blake didn’t care for the flavor of the crust of his pizza and he’s a big crust guy. He said the crust tasted like cardboard, no flavor, dry, and no personality. As for the pizza itself, he found it passable. Nothing to write home about.
His thoughts about the pizza mirrored my own about the spinach dip. It was a bit too oily, and I paid for it later that night. Taste wise, it wasn’t bad at all, but not the best spinach dip I’d ever had.
The real shocker was the bill. The entire meal just seemed too high for the food to be that basic. Especially considering that I ordered an appetizer for my entree.
While the food was by no means horrible or bad, we’ve gotten more food that was better quality at other places. So while I will commend Buffalo Brothers on a nice lively atmosphere and attentive servers, the food was a underwhelming and the price was definitely not worth it. Blake and I will not be going here again.
