Bearings in Conveyor Systems

Conveyor systems are quick and efficient transportation for a variety of materials, which make them useful in the material handling and packaging industries. Industries as Mining, automotive, agricultural, food processing, aerospace, pharmaceutical, chemical, bottling and canning, print finishing and packaging.

Conveyors come in contact with abrasive contaminants under dirty, wet conditions that challenge component reliability & external temperature, like Belt Conveyors, Spiral Conveyors, Vibrating Conveyor, etc.

The most important bearing types for Conveyor Systems are as follows :

1) Deep Groove Ball Bearing (DGBB) :

a) Suitable for robust operation and require little maintenance.

b) Uninterrupted raceway shoulders.

c) Non Separable design & can support radial and axial loads.

d) Different sealing options like seals or shields available.

e) Application used in conveyor rollers

2) Spherical Roller Bearing (SRB) :

a) Self-aligning design helps to withstand extreme conditions to compensate for drive shaft deflection, which can lead to edge stresses.

b) Internal design enables them to withstand High Radial load and able to accommodate axial loads acting in both directions.

c) Most types have circular groove and lubricating holes in the outer ring, for effective lubrication.

d) Application: Drive Pulleys.

3) Housed Units (WIR) :

a) Duly filled wide inner rings with cast housings.

b) Reduce mounting, dismounting, process time and efforts.

c) Available with Collars.

d) Take Up Units where shaft adjustment and belt tightening devices are required

e) Series YAS, YCR, YTU, YCJ, YCJT & WIR GY, GYE,GRE,GKE series.

f) Application : Used as the ready to mount units. These housings are easy to mount/dismount.
