yeah, my experiences in IT and web dev hiring are pretty much the same. I get the equivalent of HR phone sex, and very rarely much more than a one off interview.
Now I am not the smartest guy in the room, but whenever I’ve left a company there was great gnashing of teeth, slitting of wrists and wailing. I work hard and contribute. I’ve started to wonder if there is some secret to interviewing that was handed out in college a decade or so after I graduated. Is it so crazy to think that people who are good at computers, may not interview well?
