NTENT CTO and Pinterest Chief Scientist to Weigh in on The Shifting Landscape of Web Search at The Web Conference

NTENT CTO Dr. Ricardo Baeza-Yates will participate in a panel titled, “The Shifting Landscape of Web Search and Mining: Past, Present, and Future,” at The Web Conference in Lyon, France happening April 23–27, 2018. Other panelists include professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and Chief Scientist at Pinterest, Jure Leskovec, as well as two renowned professors from Emory and Cornell Universities with expertise in the fields of Web search, mining, social network analysis, semantics and knowledge management.

The panel will address various factors affecting content evolution on the Web such as demographics, author behavior, new devices used to access the Web, and an unyielding thirst for social interaction measured in likes and comments geared towards likeminded people. Such factors continue to influence the way content is categorized, sought out, classified and evaluated.

The event scheduled for Wednesday, April 25 will consist of two parts: First, panelists will draw upon their own experiences to identify the current path of a particular content form, followed by part two where they will present counterarguments and debate future web content trajectory. Attendees will get the chance to interact with the panel, ask them questions and share their viewpoints.

Organized by the International World Wide Web Conferences Steering Committee (IW3C2) since 1994, The Web Conference, formerly WWW, is an annual international conference purposed to unite researchers, developers, users and venture seekers in a preeminent setting. For this reason, it is the main conference to foster the commingling of ideas and propel discussion about societal and cultural impacts from a perpetually changing Web.
