Cuba Honored by Meeting of Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill

Cuba expressed today that it is honored to host the upcoming meeting between Pope Francis and Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill, to be held here on Feb. 12.
In a statement, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered to the announcement released today through a joint statement from the Holy See and the Moscow Patriarchate that “His Holiness Pope Francis and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia, will meet on Feb. 12 in Havana.”
Before that event, Cuba is honored to host the meeting of the primates of the Catholic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church, and will provide all facilities for the holding of this historic meeting, according to the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to agenda, the two religious leaders will meet at the “Jose Marti” International Airport in Havana, during Pope Francisco´s stop en route to Mexico, and will sign a joint statement.
