How The Coronavirus was Transmitted During the Incubation Period

Timeline of Exposure to Index Patient with Asymptomatic 2019-nCoV Infection in Germany.

This article is about how a Chinese Businesswomen (Index Patient) transmitted the 2019-nCoV to a German Businessman (Patient 1) while the virus was in the incubation period which all took place in Germany. So no symptoms need to be present for the virus transmission to occur.
The incubation period is the time when a person gets the virus until the time it takes the virus to present the symptoms.

Before the symptoms of the 2019-nCoV appeared Patient 1 had met up with a Chinese Business partner (Index Patient), a Shanghai resident, on January 20th and 21st three days before his symptoms being presented.

The Chinese Business partner (Index Patient) was in Germany from January 19th to the 22nd and presented no symptoms. Symptoms started presenting on the flight from Germany to China which took place on January 22nd, 2020. On January 26th, 2020 the Index Patient tested positive for the 2019-nCoV.

On January 28th, 2020, three other employees were tested positive for the 2019-nCoV (Patients 2,3,4). Patient 2 was also confirmed to have gotten the 2019-nCoV during the incubation period. As seen in the chart Patient 2 had contact with only the Index Patient while Patients 3 and 4 had contact with both Patient 1 and the Index Patient.
