Digital content can be repurposed to reach more people and improve your marketing campaigns.

Multimedia is more important that ever in our changing media landscape. We can’t simply stick to one platform, outlet or medium anymore. People consume media in different ways and it’s important to target the largest audience possible. You should be doing everything in your power to gain as much attention as possible for yourself and your brand.

If you’re only making video content or simply sticking to written content, you’re missing out on the potential audience you could be reaching with your work. It’s important to find ways to repurpose your content to reach more people with minimal effort.

It’s simple to repurpose your content for a variety of different mediums.

First of all, I recommend picking the medium you’re most comfortable with. For me, that’s video. Although I keep a blog and do some publishing with my media company, I really don’t enjoy writing as much as I enjoy making videos.

I’m also not as talented at written content as I am at video content or delivering information on camera. Regardless, I still write close to one million words of written content a year.

I always produce video content first, because I’m most comfortable with it. I use that as a starting point and create other content around it. So, I’ll release a video and write a lengthy description about the video on the YouTube upload page, which helps people find my video through SEO.

I’ll then write a blog about the video, addressing the topic in written form. I’ll then link to the YouTube video on my blog. Because I do this, I am able to grow an e-mail list for marketing purposes and to reach a wider audience. I’m also able to reach people organically through YouTube with the same type of content.

I then convert the blog post and the video into images and share them on networks like Snapchat and Instagram. This increases my activity on other social networks and cross-promotes my content across different platforms.

By using many platforms at the same time, I am targeting different niches and audiences to grow my online following at the fastest rate possible. I am promoting my content and creating more than a handful of media companies with a team of people.

I recommend that all content creators learn how to repurpose their content so that they can be everywhere at the same time. By repurposing an idea for several different media platforms, you increase the volume of work you produce while decreasing the amount of time you need to spend thinking about it.
