(264): People Only Really Believe in Global Warming in Mid-July

…unless they’re in Australia and then they believe in global warming in January.

I’m not sure what I have to say about that, but consider all the people who use as evidence that global warming is bunk the fact that it’s 30 degrees outside in January. Well, it was 20 degrees outside LAST January. What does that prove? And there are those who believe in global cooling. I remember one of them guested on George Noory’s Coast to Coast radio show some time ago. Let’s see if I can call up who it was…ah, I can’t remember. Must not matter.

But it is a comforting conceit to think about global cooling on a 96 degree day in July, isn’t it? However, a visit to NOAA’s Climate at a Glance page bursts my big ol’ carbon dioxide bubble when I check out the global temperature anomalies from 1895 to the present. Apparently, there used to be a bunch of years with temperatures below normal, but now and for quite a number of years, the anomalies have all been positive. I hope this doesn’t mean next July will be even hotter. I’m demoralized enough as it is with THIS July.

And since people get more irritable when it’s hot, maybe I should stay home and indoors, too. Can you see my grumpy face? It’s flushed too. 😒 That’s all I got. ‘Night y’all.

Good grief. Image by NASA Earth Right Now via Flickr. License.
