My Egg-Sucking Dogs on National Dog Day

Kamikaze and Yoko got some eggy goodness for their Dog Day treats! Pic is blurry, because the husband was taking the picture.

I only learned it was National Dog Day early this evening, so I decided on the spur of the moment to give the doggies a little extra treat. Like I needed an excuse to give them extra treats…

They’re very fond of hard-boiled eggs, and all sorts of other foods, even stuff that isn’t food. Yoko enjoys raiding the bathroom garbage bin in a ninjalike manner. I’ve never actually caught her at it, but occasionally, I see tissues strewn around her dog bed. Kamikaze is much too disciplined for that.

This post is just an excuse to post a few pics of the friends on National Dog Day.

Kamikaze was just starting on the egg when the pic was snapped; he’s too fast for an electronic shutter!

I’m always thankful for the day we discovered little Kamikaze, just born in an easy chair with his 5 siblings. It led us to years of superlative and selfless love from the dog people we rescued. We miss you Mrs. Prettypaws and Sheela! And we’re so happy to have Kamikaze and Yoko!

Kamikaze’s mama Mrs. Prettypaws, lost in 2014. And she did have pretty paws!
Our feisty watchdog, Sheela, we miss you!
Kamikaze up close; his muzzle has turned very white, but he’s still happy and active!
Yoko with her tongue out, which is like 90% of the time. Her jaw is too short and it just sticks out! Cute, but she’s a messy eater.

Nighty night from all the dogs, past and present (and future nebulous potential dogs)!
