Patience, a head scratcher!
“Can you please just be patient!” “You say you’ve been patient, but when you act on it in the 25th hour, you aren’t being patient!!” “Look at them, so calm and composed, thats being patient.”
Familiar thoughts? Lets try and understand this word people use, oh so loosely, ‘Patience’..
Definition of ‘Patience’, to me there is none.
Every single individual has a different definition of patience, that is more often than we know, is how they are individually. So it might be true to say, but..
Darlin’ it’s all relative!
Your needs against your desires and wants, drive the level of patience in you. The same person who might be the most impatient one in situation A, might be the most patient in situation B. Simply because, what drove patience to a smaller timeline in situation A, could be due to one want/need that was out of balance, and led the feelings.
Understanding. Now this is your own! You can be extremely patient if you keep telling yourself that things are working out and people are doing what they’re suppose to, to get you the results you’ve been patient for. A major key player, though very dangerous.
By the end of it, a person who is going through impatience looks at things very differently in a situation compared to a person who is patient. There is no right definition of ‘Patience’, its a feeling and an urge to do things or get things done, or simply have something in an ‘unreasonable’ amount of time. It could both be taken as a good trait or bad one, depending on who leads the reaction in the situation, you or the emotion.
So go ahead, be impatient, and get what you want. But hold your head higher than the emotion to know the difference between you leading it against the emotion leading you.
Cheers
