Blog #2: Mediator of Culture

Hello Silvia,

I couldn’t agree more with your begining sentence about having a true connection between home and school. Our responsibilities as educators are immense, and I believe that even though establishing these connection take a considerable amount of time and effort, for a teacher and parent, it is worth it! Making a phone call, sending a letter or an email, or setting up appointment can be a few of the things that we can do in our way to making the home and school connection we need for the success of the students. A parent/guardian and student survey would be a great idea to gain begining information of the student and parent/guardian. Have you thought about doing something similar? What would be your first step in establishing this connection?

Thank you for sharing!
