DAY 25 OF THE 30 DAY WRITING CHALLENGE

‘The problem is that I am a perfectionist. So I just can’t accept anything less than perfect.’

‘I want to make a product that I am proud of. It’s got to be 90% there before I show it to the world.’

‘I am researching because I want to be totally prepared before I start taking any action.’

All we are doing here is subconsciously delaying the process of actually starting. And we blame it all on us being ‘Perfectionists’.

In reality,
Research is just procrastination in disguise.
And perfectionism is just fear in disguise.
All it does is, it stops up from sharing our work with the world.

So we keep making the changes to the site, keep buying the latest equipment & keep learning the ‘perfect’ strategies.

Until..

Someone better comes along.
And the game has changed, the tech we mastered has changed, we lose the momentum, our audience loses patience and suddenly we realise that we have achieved nothing but a bucket load of research and a pretty site that no one is aware of.

If you aren’t embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late — Reid Hoffman

How about this..
3–4 good podcasts interviews.
2 good books.
Speak to a couple of relevant people from the trade.
$200.
And start.

What’s the worst that could happen?

They will laugh. They will think its stupid. They will think you are stupid.
So what?
And you probably are.
Does that matter?

But..

Does it make you happy?

Are you making small affordable mistakes and learning from it?

Is it giving you purpose?

Does it make you fulfilled?

If you are authentic, then chances are there are more people like you in this world that will connect with it. You continue to be stupid and happy, and very soon you have your own tribe. Before you know it, you will begin to start making a change to someone or something.

Those laughing might be accomplished. You, on the other hand, will be fulfilled.
