Interesting episode 9 of The All Turtles Podcast. It talks about Replica, an AI that can ask questions and can interact with me. I find the idea intriguing. At the same time, the technology is impressive.
On the other side, I get the sensation that they begin with the technology and then, they tried to find something useful with it. I am a marketing person, and I am always looking for a problem and then, only then, try to find the tech to solve it. Put the customer first and then go backward.
I still do not know what need does Replica tries to satisfy. In the podcast, no one asked that question either. They talked a lot about the possible benefits. That’s not the same. Everything sounded to me very fuzzy in this aspect.
I like the idea expressed by Phil Libin in a previous episode, that after technology gets mature, it will be the time of the applications on top of that infrastructure. I think this is when the customer view goes first.
If I comment all this is because I like Replica and I want them to improve.
Very good podcast, it helps to open my mind to new things. I also think that Replica is a promising project.
