The arm-chair analysts got it wrong. Imagine, if not for the iPhone (and the subsequent smartphone revolution it kicked off) we’d be struggling to control the IoT connected devices using Backberry’s trackball and Motorola’s stylus. Hard to even imagine the boom in IoT tech without these smartphones/watches, etc. The iPhone did act as a catalyst for tech.
