In addition, our youth are three times more likely to stay unemployed despite possessing developed skills, causing it to become one of the most crucial issues faced by societies across the world.
To raise awareness regarding such a significant problem, the United Nations designated July 15th as World Youth Skills Day. This day help highlights the current rising unemployment among youth and what steps need to be taken so that the situation is controlled globally. The United Nations states:
“At least 475 million new jobs need to be created over the next decade to absorb the 73 million youth currently unemployed and the 40 million new annual entrants to the labor market.”
This showcases that job creation is vital to the survival of youth across the world.
