This approach is called embodied cognition.

Hm, in part, maybe, in that the limitations of the body certainly play a part in decision making and identity forming process, but based on my read of what this approach is, even though it does extend beyond the body to culture and other inputs of the world one lives in, what I mean goes beyond all of that.

My approach is more transcendental than what our material science would allow, and I guess I would call it something like manifesting consciousness, rather than embodied cognition. The difference is that all of material science is operating under the axiom that who we are, or become throughout the course of a life, must come from here, from what we already know exists here.

I don’t believe that our identity originates from the so called mundus, I believe that is secondary. It may work in a number of different ways, for instance our world can be a simulation and we “players” immersed in it, which is one of the more scientifically compatible metaphors. You wouldn’t say that who you are is formed or defined by what games you play and how, you would say much more likely that what games you play and how is a reflection of who you are.

I think I will look more into the theory of embodied cognition, it may have some interesting insights, thanks for mentioning it. It could actually be very useful to me because I’m creating a fictional sci-fi universe with aliens that have alien psychologies derived precisely from having different biologies and overall life experience. That was actually my only encounter with this theory before, one of the documentaries about the possible forms aliens might take. And encounter with them would be a way to test how correct this theory is.

Hm, I guess I have more thinking to do.
