In no particular order, and based on a simple google search parameter’s first page results of ’false rape accusation + benefits’: The benefits of claiming false rape are (numbers also refer to the sources at the bottom):

  1. For money
  2. For attention
  3. For revenge
  4. To get rid of a partner
  5. To cover up for cheating
  6. To provide a reason for poor exam results
  7. Because they regret a sexual encounter

In many of these cases the men involved were placed in jail. It is still kidnapping and false imprisonment if you get the state to do it for you. The first case meant the victim (that is, for the hard-of-thinking: the man) spent 7 days behind bars and had to leave home because of the abuse and threats he got AFTER being cleared by police.

In ALL the cases below, these women have made it more difficult for REAL rape victims to pursue dangerous criminals.

Note also that in NONE of these cases, while the men faced at least 10 years in jail, the false accusers got no jail time at all.

And, while it certainly looks increasingly like Mr. Cosby is/was a dangerous predator, the problem highlighted here stem from the approach of ‘guilty until proven guilty’.

Also note that it seems that a prior victim had got Mr. Cosby to admit to using drugs to rape women but settled for the money rather than prosecute a dangerous person allowing him to, potentially, rape again.

Your artwork is really good, I especially like (perhaps: envy?) the way you manage to convey the expression of confusion on the faces of the female supervillains in the last panel. Many of your comics seem to be well-researched and informed, particularly on economic issues. It would be nice if you would extend that intellectual diligence to gender issues too.

Given the ease with which you could have ascertained the veracity of the premise of your punchline, and given the level of research you are clearly capable of doing in other domains, it seems that, in this area, you approach your art from a self-imposed, ill-informed ideological position to the detriment of victims of false accusations, victims of rape and, of course, yourself.

How about a 6 panel cartoon on the following issue? you know, to prove you too can learn and grow (three links — there are PLENTY more).

and here: which includes the words “ Colleen Hermesmann successfully argued that a woman is entitled to sue the father of her child for child support even if conception occurred as a result of a criminal act committed by the woman.”
