What was before?

How often do you feel that you forgot something to do? Every day is in a crazy rhythm of life — a lot of meetings, calls, traffics, etc. When you wake up in the morning you start to plan your day and in the evening you understand that you forgot a lot of things. Millions of people live with the same problem, so do I.

That’s why I was going to create a prototype “Keep in Mind” application for smartphones. But first of all, I have to figure out what kind of problem people need to fix. I choose three absolutely different users: Nadiya — housewife and mother, Olha — young woman who works as a doctor and Nikolas — front-end developer who works with international clients. All of them has the different lifestyles, but one thing is the same — they have a lot of tasks for a day and they need extra time for all plans. I asked three simple questions:

  1. Describe your day routine.
  2. Do you plan your day/week/month? If yes, how do you do that? What do you use?
  3. What do you expect from reminder apps ?

In summary, everyone considers that to have personal assistant will be great. Nadiya and Olha sometimes use the notebook to organize all plans for week/month, but often forgot about that. Only Nikolas use the desktop app for manage his client’s projects, but he forgot about routine tasks.

What if…

…you will have an application that will be your personal assistant, will learn your behaviors and how often you did the same tasks, recognize where you are and remind you what of your task can be done in that moment.

For example, your friend just told you a new receipt of the apple pie and you need some ingredients. You will create a new task in “Keep in Mind” App and mark your location where you like to buy a food (if you want) or add time when you need to be reminded about food list. That’s it. The app will send you a notification when you will be nearby your store, that you need to buy ingredients for your new apple pie.

Or another story, you need to make an appointment with a doctor for your kid. Just create a simple task and app will send you notification during office hours with doctor’s schedule and remind you that you need to call and set up an appointment. Also, for example, if you will be driving nearby the doctor’s office, the application will send you a reminder with information that you have appointment nearby in doctor’s office.

Prototyping

So, I started to work… I wanted to make this application simple, without many difficult filters and features. It will be like personal assistant — it’s not your work to remind and organize, you just give instructions.
If you buy a milk every two days, the app will create default task “To buy a milk” for every two days for week/month. If you drive every day in the same way, you will get the notification about traffic road in the morning and alternative solutions. Of course, you can manage your tasks.
You have possibility organize your tasks with categories — shopping, meetings, travel, fly, sport; plan for day/week/month/year before; easy check your day schedule — app will help you to figure out how many tasks can be done today and how many time you will need.

In conclusion

I believe, that it will be extremely helpful for a lot of people in their life routine, it will help them to be in focus with important things and don’t forget about a lot of other tasks, give you considerable information in a right time.
