Can a person fast for 40 days and 40 nights?

I know my own beliefs and what is possible; but without harm to anyone, but increasing the intelligence for those whom want to seek information about how to go about as to any practice of fasting safely, I would like to recommend the following, although holding no responsibility for those who partake in it — I know a lot of people a lot of time ask questions about how to get rid of cancer, aids and all sorts of curable (known) and noncurable (notknown) diseases.

Also I have noticed in my own little practices of life/ fasting, and what have you not; that when fasting or observing instead of partaking, one’s spinal column can become increasingly flexible or more so able to be put into line; I think this is because (well I know not think), that as one fasts, there is less trash and body fats and organs bloated or filled in the body; this allows the body to realign itself with proper sitting (like a yoga or a good well held posture), as well as breathing (they call, or some call from overseas (I am in Australia) the pranayama, I just call it breath or breathing, or try not think about it but just do the practice I know feels right, doing an pattern of breath in for 1 — hold for times 4 of the 1 length — and then releasing the breath (through nose only usually, sometimes through mouth, depends; otherwise I will fire breathe it, or a term from overseas again, “Fire breath” in yoga; it is similar to my breath out and pull in stomach bellybutton region as vigorously and as comfortable as possible maneuver). The breath out extends usually for two times the 1 length of the breath in.

Continuing from above, if you combine this with spinal twists, you will see yourself naturally correcting a lot of ailments in the body in spinal injuries, muscles injuries and joints, etc. I like it and would like to share and pass it on to others and if others want teaching may write more if donations are given and it is a lengthy process to write, and as seen above, I’ve left out some proper punctuation because these articles take time and it would be nice to not worry about the bills for a little while or daily living in this crazy city lifestyle so that I can write properly (as once I’m in the hills, or if one day proceeding from this I am, I can give up all this and just write and read and practice my things until I’m taken one day (by God, not by man)).

Can a person fast for 40 days and nights? Would this positively or negatively affect their health?
I used to belong to a church founded by the 20th Century’s greatest Christian authority on Fasting- the late Franklin Hall. He said that the truth about fasting was uncovered around the turn of the 20th Century by a medical doctor called Tanner (whose grandson later wrote in to corroborate Franklin Hall’s testimony).
Atheistic doctors scorned those who believed that Jesus could have fasted 40 days and nights as The Bible claimed. They said that even if he survived fasting that long, that he would have been too weak to have survived the wilderness, or done much of anything (Jesus was depicted as walking and talking more or less normally).

Dr. Tanner told his colleagues that he would prove The Bible authentically depicted Jesus’ fasting experience by fasting for 40 days and nights himself, under their scrutiny. He said that not only would he survive the experience, but that his health and vitality would be improved beyond his pre-fasting state.
He successfully proved those points. His mental and bodily fitness were increased beyond his pre-fasting normal condition. He fasted for forty days and nights three times in his life.
After the third time, when he was above eighty years, his gray hair began to grow out black again.
An important consideration in fasting is that FASTING IS NOT THIRSTING.
It is important to drink adequate quantities of fresh water during one’s fast (about 2 litres daily for adults). One should not presumptuously embark on a maximum-length fast of multiple weeks, but first fast for a few days at a time, allowing one’s body to fully recover and stay stable for a reasonable period of time, before going on a very long fast.
Since so relatively few people do fast properly (less than 72 hours without food is a joke; the effects of fasting do not begin until the fat supply begins to metabolize,) the truth about fasting is largely unknown.

Update 2: Dear ORCAS: The parameters you have given are incorrect.
Locally, certain Christians often fast without drinking water for up to seven days at a time. They don’t do this to glorify God, but to show off to fellow church members and intimidate them.
My co-worker’s brother-in-law died doing that. He was a pastor, and supported the doctrine that to drink water during a fast invalidates the fast- which is not Biblical, and has caused many needless deaths.
I just told you how a person of normal weight can fast six weeks (42 days) without harm. A person fasting (and not doing stupid things like construction labour) loses weight at about 1lb (about 1/2 kilo) daily. If you subtract 40lbs from your bodyweight and the result is substantially over 100lbs, you will likely make it handily.
What are your references?
It is rude to contradict someone with made-up figures. I am talking about things people I know did. The pastor’s wife of Franklin Hall’s Lagos branch- a nurse- did 21 days.
Update 3: She performed this task while still fulfilling her duties as a nurse (Jesus commanded that we not let on that we are fasting).
Dr. Tanner concluded from Matt. 4:2 that there was nothing supernatural about Jesus’ fast, because Jesus was “hungry” after fasting forty days and nights, and not “thirsty.”
People who not only never fasted in their entire lives, but actively shunned and avoided those who do, would not know that:
1. After 72 Hours without food, the gastro-intestinal tract stops producing digestive fluids, and goes into a state of dormancy, therefore one DOES NOT FEEL HUNGRY AFTER THE THIRD DAY.
At this juncture, one becomes freed from food and narcotics addiction hungers, such as caffeine, nicotine, marijuana, heroin, and cocaine addictions. This is the basis of the so-called “Cold Turkey” Cure, which would be usually administered by force- locking a person up in a room for three days, and cleaning up the mess later.
A “Real Person” would do this voluntarily.
Update 4: The first time I fasted three days the totally unexpected (and long-lasting) side-effect was that MY FEET STOPPED SMELLING. Whatever it is that makes your feet and socks smell after they’ve been in your shoes too long completely disappeared. Completely.
The (scientific) explanation would be: By the third day of fasting all of the carbohydrates (glycogen) in the body (alimentary canal, liver, muscles) is completely depleted- but this is what the fungi and bacteria that cause stinking feet NEED to survive. They can only get what they need when it is in surplus in the body. Most people do not fast, and so cannot know this.
When the carbohydrate in the body is depleted, the body goes to “Plan B,” which is to consume the FAT stored in the body for this purpose. This causes toxic substances that are lipo-soluble to be released. This is where it becomes urgent to drink adequate quantities of water, to remove those poisons from the body before they can kill one.
Update 5: After three days of fasting, minor illnesses and ailments become cured, and one becomes immune to them- such as common-cold, catarrh, common headaches and migraines.
2. The body has to adjust to drawing all of its nutriment from within itself, and excreting quantities of toxic waste that has been backed-up for years, and could not be removed, because the body’s resources were largely tied-up in digesting new and unnecessary meals.
By the 10th-14th days a person fasting no longer feels weak. The body should have gotten used to generating the fat-dissolving and digesting enzymes it needs in the quantities that it needs.
Such a person may display amazing feats of strength and stamina (but should not show off, or do foolish things because it would put undue strain on their heart)!
3. It takes about forty days to deplete all the usable fat from the body. Only then does the body secrete enzymes that permit the conversion of muscle-tissue to food. THIS is the onset of starvation.
