Day 122 — Family

I’ve been thinking a lot about my family lately. I’m Trinidadian and Jamaican but definitely grew up in the first type of household.

Every weekend I would stay with my Grandma and on Sunday everyone would get together and have a meal together. That was all I knew up until I was about 16. I thought I was an adult by that point and got consumed by World of Warcraft and just doing other stuff.

My family got bigger, little cousins and sisters arrived but I no longer saw them each weekend to break bread. Now that I’m older, I think back and wish we had more time together.

I’m trying to change that now though. Nothing beats family time or family love.
