Spring Hymn
Feb 23, 2017 · 1 min read
Spring is happy with flowers; he blushes
over us, so shy, and hot tears
part in radiance momently. Yes,
Spring leaps and flails, where is he?
Dampening now a lost sock, swept
the grasses with pollen Saturday last
in a fit of embarrassment, harmless!
My darling you do not hurt us, my
playful shirttails fly quite lightly;
Spring must have me quite naked for
his emergencies come and go; for
he is fleeting in all things, burning
and cool, still and glistening and
yet so morning-frantic; Spring
waits impatient, Spring: run along now
