PRANAYAMAS
When the Breath wanders, the mind is unsteady, but when the Breath is still, so is the mind still. –
Hatha Yoga Pradipika
Pranayama means control of ‘Prana’ (life force) through the breath. This relies on breathing through nostrils. ‘Prana’ flows through thousands of subtle energy channels called ‘nadis’ and energy centers called ‘chakras’. It teaches you how you can recharge your body and control your mental state by regulating the flow of the life force. Pranayama helps you achieve a calmer and more focused mind and increases your energy level significantly.
Different Pranayamas have different effects on the human body.
