“Tony Drills it Home”
Review of King Louie’s Drilluminati 3:God of Drill
Every town has a home grown hero. That person who rose to stardom, while conquering home court disadvantages. In Chicago, his name is Louie but they call him Tony. The Southside superstar has laced his Hip Hop tenured with stripes of grind and grit. Before Chicago stormed into the Hip Hop spotlight, King Louie held down home turf. Tony has stayed lit during the blazing Chicago music scene. Year after year he has provided a Drillfilled catalog of projects and a handful of summer hits. King Louie’s latest randomly released project “Drilluminati 3” nails it. Drilluminati 3 is 16 tracks deep with captivating collaborations with Fetty Wap, PartyNextDoor, Jessie Reyez, Dreezy, and KD Young Cocky. D3's production thumps and thrives with tracks from C-Sick, Cardo, Mr. Incredible, Blockondatrakk, DJL, Dbrookz, DGainz and more. Drilluminati 3 displays Tony’s trademark Drill feel and a soothing OVO sound. King Louie aims to puncture the summer with jaw clinching bars of Drills, and Louie’s low deep rocking vocal rumbles ascends tracks into a Drill made in heaven.

Drilluminati 3 begins with a 3peat as King Louie installs Rozay Flow 3. The single series has been a usual suspect for highlights on Louie’s previous projects. Mr. Incredible’s hard hitting sound pushes Louie’s bossed up flow. D3 comes out the gate being a Drill. Tony bust clips of bars, spitting in a spew of cadences on Throw Yo Sets Up, Johnny Tapai, and Take Em to Church. On Take Em to Church, DGainz shoots from the camera to the studio, producing the track for Louie’s street sermon.

King Louie hooks up with the harmonizing melodies of Fetty Wap and KD Young Cocky on City G.O.D. Tony hits the track confident and cool, rapping and adding his adlib Boom, Boom, Boom! The 3 unique tones and pitches come from different directions, synchronizing perfectly to the double drums of DJ L. Fetty Wap sprinkles his infectious yyeaahhh bbaabbyyy, adding that Trap Queen Fetty flavor. In Tony Flow, King Louie presents his patent self entitled “Tony Flow”. The triple cadence, exhausted delivery pattern reached its claim to fame in the biggest Chicago cut last year B.O.N.

Magic is within the 7th track “Live it Up”. King Louie, and the dynamic duo of Dreezy and DBrookz construct a bonafide banger( banger, banger). Tony and Dreezy slit and slash through a ripping guitar and rave pounding production from DBrookz. The melody here is memorizing from jump. It lures listeners in enticing tunes. King Louie’s magic and artistic reach shines on “Live it Up”. Tony can switch his aggressive, raspy, rugged tone to a smooth, leaning bellow with ease. His deep voice massages the beat into a dizzy rock.
Versatility pumps in the veins of Louie’s skills. Tony pulled a trick from his sleeve for Drilluminati 3. “Clique’d Up” is drowsy drowning production from super producer Cardo. The track is a abstract collection of sounds. Listeners get to hear what is to come from the MuBuOVO camp. PartyNextDoor finagles flows and serenades the track, capturing the soul soothing spirit of a 90s RnB track . The song is a creative onslaught of addictive crooning. Drilluminati 3 shifts musical gears fluidly. The repetitive bounce of “Smoke Break” looks to be sure to beat and rattle in trunks all over the Chicago. Tony batters and bops on the entire track. The style and cadence mixed with the heavy thumping and thriving, unleashes a undeniable jounce. The tempo and energy has a vintage “Tear the Club Up Thugs” feel. Tony’s energy peaks in multifarious flows.

Drilluminati 3 shows King Louie’s ability to make music with hometown sounds and the heavy hitters in the game. Listeners can look forward to hearing Tony on different tones and textures. He has carved and establish his lane and the sky is the limit for King Louie. It is only a matter of time before the world says hello to Tony’s sound.
