The Supreme Student Government of Naga City Science High School won as the SSG- Best Implementer under the Maka-Tao category in the 2021 Gawad Siklab Search (Division Level).

Launched by the Department of Education (DepEd), Gawad Siklab aims to recognize contributions that manifest DepEd’s core values: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa.

The NCSHS-SSG submitted the project titled, “CLICK (Computer Literacy: Igniting the Naguenian Community’s Knowledge)” which featured a series of posts, infographics, and videos to enlighten students in utilizing learning applications, and to guide them to the upcoming events for the school year.

“We really did not expect that we would be recognized with an award for the hard work, time and effort that we have poured into the implementation of the project,” shared Frankie Talento, SSG President.

According to her, the said achievement reminds the governing body to continually serve the Naguenian community in the face of adversity.

Meanwhile, SSG Adviser Domingo Vinluan revealed that the feat ticked off a goal of the SSG during the first year of his appointment — to drive the officers to competency.

“I am very happy and proud of my officers”, he said.

“This award is very significant to me because it helps my officers to continue their drive to serve the Naguenian community and at the same helps to build their trust in me as new SSG adviser,” he added.

The NCSHS-SSG represented the Naga City Division and participated in the Regional Gawad Siklab Evaluation and Selection which was held last June 21–25 in Legazpi City.
