end of an era

long time, no talk, so let’s.

I uploaded my last video on December 1st, 2016. In said video, I talked about what my plans for this year on YouTube were going to be. I talked about quitting Minecraft videos, starting new some new League of Legends series’, and even doing a podcast. I had said I would be starting in January 2017 with new content, and I later revealed that I would begin making new content towards the end of the month. About a month later, I wrote a Medium post about how I was unable to follow through with my planned dates of recording content and it would have to be pushed to February. I never revisited the topic until very recently.

As most of you know, I am graduating high school this year. This requires a lot of focus and time to make sure everything goes smoothly as I transition into a big new part of my life. While I was looking back at what I’ve done over the past 4 years of high school, there was only one major thing that’s been here the entire time:

YouTube.

When I look back at my successes and failures, most of them can be traced back to one major thing:

YouTube.

There is no denying that YouTube has influenced my life in both positive and negative ways, that is 100% true. I have made new friendships that I intend to keep for as long as they can survive. I’ve done things that I wouldn’t have done without the support and motivation of those people, and I am eternally grateful for that.

With all of these changes coming my way, and what it looks like my future will be like, I am announcing today that I will be suspending all production on my YouTube channel on June 10th, 2017.

I’ve loved every moment over the past 3.5 years and I thank everyone who has helped me get to where I am today. I am forever thankful for everyone who I’ve interacted with, whether it has ended in a giant ball of fire or continues today. There is nothing I would have rather done during high school, being able to come home and talk to friends that I know both in real life or over the internet.

Neogear Games is going to be my main focus now. We are working on some amazing stuff, and I’m so glad that I’m fortunate enough to be working with my friends to create amazing works for others to enjoy playing as much as we enjoy making.

I still plan to continue tweeting from my twitter, @NeogearMatt, so feel free to follow me there to see what I’m up to. I’ll still be memeing it up with my friends, so feel free to send me some so I’ll look funnier!

I’m planning to make one final video, highlighting my YouTube experience, with clips from my videos dating back to 2013 all the way up to now. It will be coming out on June 3rd.

It’s been a wild ride, but this where I step off this crazy train. Thanks for everything.

❤❤❤
