A carbohydrate rich meal 1–2 hours before your workout will help with the performance.

However, working out at 6am makes it hard unless you wake up at 4.

What I do instead is to eat a carbohydrate rich meal the night before. This way your glycogen stores will be full for your workout.

After the workout, consume at least 25–30 grams of protein. This also a good time eat carbohydrates.
