This past Friday, November 11th, Nervape had the privilege to answer questions at an AMA hosted by YokaiDojo on their YokaiSwap Discord. Questions were gathered from various community members and the top ten questions that were featured received a special prize =). Nervape Community Manager James (Twitter: @nervape_james) represented the Nervape Team.
Here are the questions and answers from the event (edited for clarity):
James’ self-introduction.
James: Hi everyone! I’m James, the Community Manager at Nervape. I’m responsible for building and engaging the Nervape community through marketing and social media outreach.
My background: I’ve worked in social media marketing, project management, and film production. I’ve written and directed my own short films which I think is why I’m drawn to Nervape; narrative storytelling is at the heart of Nervape’s metaverse and is what makes it stand out.
I’m also drawn to blockchain technology and NFTs, having followed them since the start. We’re already seeing the incredible impact these technologies have on art, storytelling, finance…and it’s only the beginning.
YokaiDojo: Please tell us about the project Nervape in brief to start with, how it started, and what’s the core idea behind it. We’ll then move forward with their questions.
Nervape tells the story of decentralization. The narrative we’ve built, about apes who feel trapped by real life and escape into dreams, mirrors the feelings many of our team members had. But now, with the NFT revolution, we’re beginning to see what only existed in dreams, taking place in reality.
Artists are able to manifest their creative ideas into reality, collaborate with others, and make their work financially sustainable without relying on a centralized authority. Our motivation is to create unique, beautiful 3D NFTs connected to our story universe, and with the help of the growing Nervape community, watch our story evolve alongside the story of decentralization.
Q1: When is the Nervape Bridge expected to go online? Can the Nervape NFTs that cross over to Godwoken be listed on Yokai?
The Nervape Bridge will go online November 16th. Yes, Nervape NFTs that cross over to Godwoken will be listed on Yokai Dojo.
Q2: Will the existing Nervape NFTs on Kollect be affected? How will users be able to transfer the NFTs on Kollect to YokaiDojo?
If a user chooses to stay on Nervos Layer 1, they can still use Kollect as their secondary marketplace until Kollect.me closes operations. UPDATE: Given the recent announcement of Kollect.me shutting down, we recommend users to transfer to Godwoken, that way they can also list on Yokai Dojo.
We built a bridge to allow holders to migrate their Nervape NFTs from Nervos Layer 1 to Godwoken. NFTs bridged to Godwoken will satisfy the ERC-721 standard and will be able to list on Yokai Dojo. Time to join the dojo!
Q3: What’s the role of the Nervape in NFT revolution and what is your motivation to build it?
I believe I answered this in the introduction, but I’ll say again: Nervape is all about STORY. With NFTs– storytellers, artists, creators…can finally take more control of their work and how it evolves. To date, we’re the only project that is narrative-driven and has customizable 3D NFTs.
Q4: Who are you partnering with for marketing, or planning to? What work are you doing on raising awareness about Nervapes?
In the past, we’ve partnered with DotBit, Mail3, Unipass in helping share Nervape to a wider audience. We will continue to work with other key influencers in the NFT space as well as in other areas that are not strictly related to NFTs.
For example, we would love to partner with teams working in film, animation, comics, and other storytelling mediums. We feel that the Nervape story and the characters we’ve created lend themselves well to those areas and look forward to raising awareness of Nervape in those spaces.
Q5: Can you give us an overview of your roadmap ?
For the near future, we’re planning to put online a 2D customizable PFP platform in December. In the 2nd quarter of 2023, we’ll be opening up voting rights for our NFT holders to vote on the direction of our story, as well staking and burning NFTS, and more. These voting rights will allow holders to affect the rarity of previously issued NFTs and their metadata.
Nervape has just finished the first chapter of the prequel in our Nervape Saga. It consists of six stories which you can find under our story section and we have released related character NFTs. There are two more chapters to the prequel: for the second chapter we plan to release 4 new characters, and in the third chapter, 6 new characters.
Q6: What is the actual application of NFTs from Nervape ? How will it affect the development of the Nervos ecosystem?
Just to expand a bit on the 2D customizable PFP platform I just mentioned (which I hope answers the application part of this question): this will allow users to create their own PFP using elements that our team has designed and then mint their own NFT of their PFP. This allows users to affect the rarity of NFTs in the marketplace as well as be creative and have fun making their own characters.
Nervape is part of the Nervos ecosystem and we hope that more users will enter the ecosystem through Nervape. As Nervape is a customizable, expandable metaverse, as more users enter the Nervos ecosystem through Nervape, as a community they’ll be able to better develop and build the ecosystem together with us.
Q7: What is the biggest difference between Nervape and other NFT projects?
Since the inception of Nervape, we’ve had stories and 3D design in our system. We launched Nervape as an experimental on-chain, story+art+game back in Dec 2021.
As our co-founder Echo mentioned: I think the most significant feature of Nervape is our storytelling, customizability, and expandability. Just like the superhero characters in Marvel Comics that have their own IP and related products, any character in the Nervape story has the opportunity to generate a game, a movie, or even a new Metaverse project.

Q8: Will Nervape get listed on opensea?
Those familiar with Nervape will know that Nervape is an NFT project released on Nervos Layer 1 in December of last year (2021) using the mNFT protocol. Kollect.me is the only secondary market on Nervos Layer 1.
After Kollect.me upgraded, a number of issues presented itself on the Kollect.me secondary marketplace, so we stopped selling new NFTs and developed a one-way bridge to allow Nervape holders to conduct transactions on Godwoken.
After the bridge, the NFT protocol became ERC-721 compliant, so if users want to conduct opensea transactions, they can use the existing bridges on Godwoken to trade on opensea such as https://xp.network/. However, if users want to stay and keep lower gas fees on Godwoken, they can use Yokai Dojo to trade Nervape NFTs.
In the future, Nervape has plans to add gaming elements to it’s metaverse, such as allowing users to change out the equipment of their characters or customizing other character attributes. In such usage scenarios, this will require high-frequency interactions/transactions. Because of this, Godwoken, with it’s lower gas fees, will be more in line with our vision for the Nervape project.
However, we also understand that opensea has a number of its own benefits such as offering greater transaction volume. So, we are researching for ways to allow users who want to trade the option to trade on opensea, and for users who want to play Nervape games the option to interact on Godwoken. Q9: What kind of features and benefits can the holders and potential buyers expect from the partnership between YokaiSwap and Nervape?
YokaiSwap is Nervos’ first DEX project and is Godwoken’s first secondary marketplace. Their community is solid and we believe is a great space for the voting features we will be implementing soon in Nervape.
Owning Nervape character NFTs will grant the user:
- The right to stake or burn their NFTs.
- The right to vote on how the stories develop.
- The opportunity to claim FREE Nervape Scene NFTs.
- The opportunity to receive physical character merchandise and swag.
- Exclusive access to IRL events.

Q10: What’s the total supply of Nervapes?
Currently our NFTs can be categorized into four collections：
Character NFTs，Scene NFTs，Item NFTs，Special NFTs
“Nervape Characters” is the primary NFT collection of Nervape. It is a collection of 5,120 utility-enabled hand-crafted 3D character NFTs.
Q11: Is there any plan to build on ethereum?
At the end of December, we plan to launch a customizable PFP NFT platform that allows members of our community to create their own PFPs. Whether this platform will eventually be released on Godwoken or ethereum will be voted on by Nervape community members.
Q12: Does the Nervape project bring anything new to the crypto space?
This question is similar to question about what makes Nervape stand out. I’ll take this opportunity to emphasize how this is a community designed project.
From our co-founder Echo: It has become widely accepted that PFP or character type NFT is a significant part of Web3 users’ identity. We agree with that, but we want to take a step forward. Most PFPs currently in Web3 are designed by the team. Users have very limited freedom when choosing their avatars. But these avatars are users’ virtual identity. They should not be defined by anyone but the users themselves.
