Andela boot camp week 2

This is it, the final stretch in a journey that started over two months ago when I applied.

A tough home study curriculum, a complex Plum test, an intriguing interview and an eventful first week; it’s definitely been quite the journey.

Being here I feel a mixture of excitement, anxiety and sadness. Excitement at being one of the last fifteen from over 1200 applicants, anxiety because the last step is the toughest and sadness because I’m here because someone else isn’t. All my friends who had applied didn’t get the email calling them for the interview and 13 of my fellow bootcampers from week one haven’t made it to week two.

Monday started off with a class on search algorithms, I got to see the solution to binary search; the same one I had spent hours on the previous week. Later in the day we got our final projects and stuff got real!

All day Tuesday was spent working on my final project, I take this opportunity to thank the founders of Google and Stackoverflow, thank you and again I say thank you.

More of the same on Wednesday. By end of day Tuesday I had finished implementing the core functions so Wednesday was spent working on the extra credit section of the project. I take this opportunity to thank the founders of Firebase and the wonderful open source community, thank you and again I say thank you.

Thursday was spent optimising code, getting feedback from my beta testers and integrating their suggestions.

Friday; presentation day. I’m due to present my project in the next three hours… wish me luck! :D

Will let you know how it goes.
