ECLAS ´Specifics´ Hamburg/Germany

Annual International ECLAS Conference in 2013 took place in Hamburg. I participated in a form of a poster. It was the first time my concept was presented to the world… And not very spectacular launching — there was no time for poster presentation provided, so it was just hanging there… I hope the public liked the picture of big brain that I carefully incorporated with the picture of the landscape. That is probably only graphical representation that I could present on the poster (obviously landscape architecture posters are all about nice graphics!)

As most of the landscape architecture conferences there was part for the speechces and site visits. We visited the ultra-modern residential area built on the old docks (Haffen City)

And yes … the conference took place in church… At least matched my contemplative topic…Not too good for the acoustics though.

Some work in groups was also performed, my group was moderated by Prof. Paulo Marques — my supervisor!

The mysterious topic of the conference “Specifics”… that almost all the speakers tried to understand in different way. But here is the character of landscape architecture: it is good to spend some hours to answer the question “what is the landscape architecture?” and listen to different voices telling what they think it is. So .. naming the conference “specifics” can´t make it much worse..!
