Tell us something about yourself?

First, I want to say thank you so much for this opportunity. My name Michaele Nunez, born and raised in Haiti. I moved to the united states legally when I was about 14 years of age. Remember how difficult it was for me as a young girl to leave everything I loved, my friends, my school for a completely different life here in the US …Gosh, that was a big challenge for me. I’m currently a full-time woman entrepreneur. I live in Florida with my husband, my handsome son Matthew and my German shepherd Cookie.

I’m 39 years young. I love being creative and coming up with my own style and designs. I enjoy researching the latest trends and experimenting with new ideas. Really my real strength is my attention to detail. When I set out to do something, I make sure it gets done and on time.

What is your entrepreneur story? How did you come about building your business?

After giving birth to our son, my husband and I talked about me being a staying home mom, at that time I was working as an account manager for a secondary bank, I managed close to 2 to 3 million dollars monthly and I loved my customers, loved my job but I was ready for another chapter to begin. After 2 years of being a staying home mom, I decided to pursue my dream, which is FASHION. I never went to school for fashion design or anything that has to do with fashion. I always knew my interest in fashion went beyond that of my peers. While everyone else was happy to leave wardrove choices to their parents, I was cultivating my own personal style — which, for me, meant my Sunday best every day of the week. I remember how scared I was to sit down and talk to my husband about me pursuing my dreams in fashion, which means I will have to cut back on being a full time staying mom and housewife and go out there and showcase my collection. It was very important to me that my husband was on board. He supported me and Mickaa Collection was born April 3, 2014.

What is your business model — how were you able to grow so fast?

My father runs several businesses in Haiti and a very successful towing company here in central Florida. One day I asked my father when did you know that you were actually an entrepreneur? He paused and say it really comes down to, are you a problem solver? Do you have what it takes to go after what you really want? at the end of the day, you’re an entrepreneur when you go out there and solve the problem. And the day you start thinking like that’s where you become an entrepreneur. I’m an entrepreneur because I’m a problem solver and I’m definitely not afraid to take no for an answer that just for the first time but you must believe that I will have a yes the second time. I did not grow fast as an entrepreneur, it took me 5 years to build a successful online store/ blog and I’m still growing.

Can you give me an overview of who you are, what is your educational or overall background? What are some of your achievements?

I am experienced Chief Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the apparel and fashion industry. Skilled in negotiation. I have a Master’s Degree focused on fashion, apparel design and advertising. I am a very positive woman, I see the good in everything. I love talking and meeting new people when I travel, I’m constantly learning and growing.

What have you learned through your experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals?

I valued my time by putting a price tag on it because my time is the greatest resource and that is one thing I can’t get back. I master my thoughts and emotion as much as I can on a daily basis. I learn to believe in my self, my intuition, and vision. Building an empire for my self, really keeps me in the game.

What makes your business so unique and successful?

One of my favorite quotes is “ A woman can be gorgeous at thirty, charming at forty and irresistible for the rest of her life” Mickaa collection believes that women, in general, can be fabulous at any age. I create a line that is sexy, classy, sophisticated and affordable. I also create unique engagement through social media. For me to communicate early and regularly with my customer to make my business successful.

why is online business, marketing, etc important

What makes online business and marketing to me is the fact that I have the opportunity to manage my business from anywhere in the world. Also, I always tell people that marketing isn’t simply an important part of your business success, it is the business. No matter how amazing your products are if there’s no marketing involve it’s basically a done deal for your company.
