Microsoft has plans to end technical support for Internet Explorer next week

Microsoft Corporation has officially announced to end support for the old version of Internet Explorer in the coming week. Users can still make use of the Internet Explorer; however there will be no technical support whatsoever. Moreover, there are high chances that the users encounter security threats on the platform. This encompasses spyware, viruses and malware.

The browser which dates back to decade will not completely banish from the Internet. However, the company has decided to put an end to the technical support from January 12, 2016. A patch will be issued by the Windows 10 giant that will be called KB3123303. The company has also decided about publishing an upgrade notification “end of life” this update will give suggestions regarding the recent, fast and safer browsing platform namely the Microsoft Edge which is part and parcel of Windows 10.

There are several older versions of the Internet Explorer namely IE8, IE9, and IE10. All these versions will be prone to vulnerability once the patch is released thus users need to beware. All users who need to browse safely are being requested to upgrade to Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge which are the only two versions that will be supported by the company.

Back in 2014, rumors started to circulate which talked about MSFT discontinuing the iterations which were outdated for the Internet Explorer. An official blog post was also posted by the company in March, FY15 which claimed that the tech giant will take its legacy forward with the launch of the Internet Explorer.

All those subscribers that are registered for automatic updates will get their browser updated on its own. For all those who don’t have this option will be required to check the Windows updates manually present in the control panel.

The internet browser space has become extremely complex since there is a lot of competition. Initially, Internet Explorer had a strong niche market and was widely used. However, soon Google took away Microsoft’s glory with the launch of the Google Chrome browser that took the industry by a storm. With time it seemed like the Windows 10 giant had decided to give up and its platform became a victim of lag and malware that further affected them.

It seems like a sane decision by the company to put an end to old versions and focus on the new one so that all its resources are streamlined in one particular direction. It is assumed that Microsoft Edge will be a massive disruption.
