When I first heard that sign language was an official language in NZ I was like “really?”, because I had never heard of it before. Seeing that it isn’t really that present in NZ might explain that. I agree with you that it should be more spread throughout the country. I imagine it would make people with hearing problems feel less discouraged or neglected.
