Trigger Warnings

I hate the concept of trigger warnings and safe spaces. At the end of the day, they are basically pointless. Trigger warnings are the equivalent of saying, “I don’t mean to be racist, but…”
On one hand, people who say such things are obviously aware they are about to say something possibly offensive. However, it is not like it softens the blow or eases the delivery to the person/group you’re about to say it to — at least if we are talking about grown adults.
I hate how we are trying to police language so much to the point where things become mired with “politically correct” expressions that become vapid fast.
