The 54th Deadline: Game

The 54th Deadline: Regardless of failure or success, you learn. Life grants people so many chances to get it right.

I don’t consider myself a gambler. Far from it. If anything, I am timid with such ideas of taking chances. No guts, no glory, right? Well, that kind of logic is true. Quite true, in fact.

For many years, I have felt incredibly “unlucky” with how my life has been going. But the more I try to put things into perspective, the more I realize that everything is just a game. A game I have been terrible at for years, mind you — but a game nonetheless.

But like any game, you have to learn how to play it better. You learn the rules in-depth. You cannot expand your skills at any given game without seeing every possible rule and gameplay mechanic from every possible angle.

This is where my favorite aspect of gaming comes into play — strategy.

To overcome difficult problems in a game, and life in general, you have to come up with a plan. Some strategies are worse than others, but you never know until you exhaust all possible tactics. Eventually, you will FIND the right answer. It is just a matter of being persistent in the face of failure.

There is just so much I want to do, but I cannot let my circumstances dictate how pathetic I feel at times.

Nothing to Lose — Everything to Gain

Perhaps in a twisted way, I think I have nothing to lose. That constant “trapped” feeling gets to me every day.

Well, when I reach this point, the only option is to go for it. Just play it all out until the end. No surrendering. I don’t even have the luxury at this stage.

Something is out of sync with me. I can tell. Something is essentially “poisoning” me, making me feel like time is fleeting.

I have to go for it. I have to try and see what I can accomplish.

This is not over yet. Not by a long shot.
