The 54th Deadline: Storms
The 54th Deadline: Regardless of failure or success, you learn. Life grants people so many chances to get it right.
“The storm came. Lives were washed away. Ancient pains resurfaced. Now it is time for a sea of change.” — Tavis Smiley
Storms come and go. I am in another whirlwind. Mixed emotions. Despair. Hope. And everything else in between.
There are days where I want things to clear up and give me an obvious answer.
I have so many questions, but nothing ever seems to stand out to me when I really need it.
Life isn’t fair, but rules are rules. You either respect them or let life crush you with (perceived) levels of unfair qualities.
Tough break, but this is how it goes at times.
I guess life wouldn’t have much contrast if everything could be paradise and sunshine.
Storms are, in a sense, necessary in this regard.
Waiting for the Weather to Clear
What would I be like? Had everything played out perfectly years ago?
If I just hopped right into my dream job without a hitch.
Just poof — I am in, and that was that.
I realize I wouldn’t be who I am today. At least, without all of the crap I put up with over the years. I have changed compared to what I was years ago because of it.
I know I am turning into someone entirely new at this rate.
Into what? I don’t know.
Hopefully, it’s something positive and worthwhile.
I want things to improve.
I want everything to make sense.
Just for now, it hurts.
It’s a mess no matter how you slice it.
Nevertheless, I cling to optimism.
Something has to work out in the end.
“Hope is my catalyst.” — Nhan Pham
