Well, my physics teacher from high school just taught us to hit the bottle around the opening to cause the force to come outward. A lot of people hit the bottle from the back, but the force would just face their direction and so it is very counterproductive.

At the end of the day, as long as the ketchup comes out, it’s the only thing that matters. ^^;
