I get your point. It does get scary when scientist are funded by private organizations looking for a specific answer.

But I’m not sure the scientist is to blame in most cases. It’s how politician, lobbyists or businesses decide to frame the facts. Do they isolate it and put it into a specific context and omit to offer important additional information?

For example, stating there that global warming is a hoax because a huge snow storm in one city. This is all it takes to put doubt in the uninformed mind.
