The story of when I started playing the guitar
On a beautiful summer day, I was walking down the street when I saw a guy playing his guitar surrounded by at least 10 girls. They were all mesmerized by him and his instrument that seemed attracting more and more ladies. That when I knew…
I’m just kidding. That’s not how it happened. In short I was in Colombia with my family. Little 12 years old Nick (I’m 21 today). Big fan of blink-182.
I was listening to blink in my iPod so much that something just clicked, a crazy idea went through my head.
I just remember being in the house we rented in Colombia saying to my mom “when we go back to Montreal, I am learning how to play the guitar”. And that was it. It’s crazy when you feel something so strongly it’s almost as if you knew you were going to dedicate your whole life to it.
When people ask me why I play the guitar, I always want to answer that there’s no why. When you’ve been playing the guitar literally everyday for the last 10 years because it’s the only thing you have in your mind, there’s no why. When you need to play guitar everyday… no one can explain that feeling.
I think the passion is my “why”. Everybody has a passion like that, I’m just lucky I discovered it early.
