Vimy Ridge was a turning point for the Canadian Army in World War I and represents its soldiers’ exceptional courage and sacrifice. Canadians view Vimy Ridge as a key moment in their history and the development of Canada. It was also the first time that four Canadian divisions in France had fought together.
