Myanmar (Burma) — Merchant Street Market, Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma)

Exploring a small ‘locals’ market

March 2015

Earlier in my wanderings, I had spotted a small dark market on Merchant Street. When I passed, it was closed, so I came back later for a look.

The market was tiny and dark and was kind of interesting. It seemed to have pretty much everything for daily life.

Clearly not Ovaltine. It was different types of rice.

The market was very cramped.

An intriguing place. Very cramped but seemed to have the essentials.
