My first visit to the Philippines

This was my first trip to the Philippines, and while it seemed an odd way to start a visit, the first stopping point was the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.

Visiting Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines, may seem the odd way to start the trip. However, some American friends had a relative commemorated in the cemetery; as they had never visited, I wanted to send them some photographs of the place.

Unsurprisingly, the Cemetery was very busy with many American visitors when I visited.

As with all the other war cemeteries I had visited, the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial were stunningly turned out. The grounds and the graves were immaculate.
