St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Volunteen Program

From its headquarters in Metairie, Louisiana, Nielsen, Carter & Treas, LLC, provides a responsive and thorough service to clients built upon the firm’s strong work ethic. In addition to representing clients, Nielsen, Carter & Treas, LLC, supports the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which offers pediatric care and conducts research into child cancer and other life-threatening ailments.

St. Jude offers numerous ways to get involved with its work, including its Volunteen program. Via annual two-week sessions, teenagers can work with staff and patients at the hospital to develop leadership and teamwork skills. Further, Volunteens gain awareness of the demands placed on medical professionals and learn about potential career paths in the medical field.

Each Volunteen session is open to 16 new participants and to four previous Volunteens who wish to take on leadership roles as program assistants. Participants generally experience the program’s activities as a single group, though some activities require splitting into smaller groups during the course of the two weeks.
