On it’s face, this is kind of a gross image, because it’s like, yeah, poop. But also, food is really precious to our dog. She gets anxious when we’re not home, and so she doesn’t eat until we’re there. She brings her food to the living room and eats it in front of us. It’s a small, but sweet gesture. It says “Hey, look. I’m taking care of myself so that I can be here for you.”

And so, this idea of our dog going to the bathroom being an act of love stems from the idea that eating, for her, is an act of love. Also, imagining it this way makes picking up the poop less terrible. Specifically in the winter.
