See this is where the arguments lose cohesion, rape is a sexual act, it has elements of violence, domination, subjugation etc. but within all of that there is still the element of sex. When you use the term to describe someone or something outside of a forceful act of sexual nature upon an unwilling person, you are now trying to place attributes of that act knowingly or un-knowingly upon that person or entity. I could argue other points made her but this discussion seems to be going down a rabbit hole as it is. Is the discussion rape or politics? To argue they are the same is senseless, as they are not, not matter how you try and construe certain like elements together. Look at it this way, you have a chemical composition that is basically 99% identical for arguments sake let us say the difference is one single element, in one case you have chlorine, in the other Splenda, they share a multitude of elements but they are not the same thing.
As to the arguments regarding Americas history, let the country that has shed no blood, never practiced slavery, never held women or children as second class, throw the first stone. If I wait for that stone to be cast I will be waiting a very long time. Some basic history of countries:
Africa — Slavery (Still Ongoing), Genocide, etc.
India — Subjugation, Rape while illegal is still commonplace and happens in public venues with no intervention.
Middle East — Subjustaion, War Crimes, Rape, Attempted Genocide, etc.
Mexico — Slavery, etc.
Spain — Spanish Inquisition
Germany — two time loser at separate attempts at world domination
England — Crusades, subjugation of Ireland and Scotland, Child Labor, Women’s Rights, Etc.
Australia — Former English Penal Colony
The list goes on and on.
