The fact is most companies and professional developers use machines running windows OS. Normal tied to a network with the backbone running some flavor of unix. Although some have moved to Mac, but I do not see the iPad as a serious contender. The problem with the iPad is that it is costly and lacks the functionality of an actual computer unless you add even more expense buying accessories. At the same time Microsoft is currently dominating the industry and coming out with things such as surface pro which combine features and functionality similar to the iPad while maintaining the ability of the laptop. In fact the tech company I worked for back when the iPad first came out gave them to us. I tried to use it for work, it wound up loaded with learning apps and used by my granddaughter. The new generation of iPads while much improved still lack the ability to function at the ability of a Mac or Windows laptop
