“ Racism does not apply. It requires a systemic power imbalance and subjugation of a specific race of people. There is actual racism in America as it applies to marginalized groups, such as Black people.”
You need to look up the definition of racism, because it does not only applt to people of color, or minorities, etc. Racism occurs in every aspect of life across cultures, nations, and boundries. It is not and never was simply an American problem.

a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
You will notice that no where in there does it mention anything regarding color, creed, nationality, etc. Noe does it list qualifications with regards to Minority Status, Marginalization, Power Balance etc. These are terms you use to try and change the actual definition of the word so that you can either use it, or rule it out as you desire.
This is similar to the use of the word Bigot in the past few years in America, people have been using it as a synonym for racism, as well as an indication that the person being discussed is uneducated, but the word bigot and it’s definition have almost nothing to do with racism (Though it does call it out in the definition, it is not part of the actual definition), or education levels. The word Bigot is simply used to describe a person that is so sure of their own ideas, beliefs, etc. that they refuse to even consider another point of view.

a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
Your statements regarding homophobic slurs, is just too funny. How you love to dance on the razors edge trying to justify the use, while all the time knowing if it was the other side using this type of slur, you would be the first to call them out.
Homophobia does not apply. All of the jokes about Putin and Trump being lovers are steeped in irony. Do you really think either of them are champions of gay rights?
Sorry; it does not come across as ironic more as moronic, this is the kind of actions that school yard bullies pull on the playground. The fact that it alienated a segment of support (The Gay community) should have been a clue for you.
I am a Bernie/Jill voter. We’re on the same side. I agree with a lot of your points about how bad Clinton really is. But I fail to understand why you end up defending Trump so much of the time. Maybe you have a disconnect because you’re not American and not actually living under the least qualified President in American history.
This is something I have seen stated time and time again, usually anytime somebody call out the democratic status qua. I doubt you and the author are on the same side, as you seem bent on making this about Trump. I have been following Caitlin Johnstone for a few months now, since I happened upon a piece she wrote.
I am an independent conservative who believes in well founded social programs (National Healthcare, Education, youth, Senior and Disabled Care, Vocational Rehabilitation, Etc.). This is the same reason I do not identify with either party, as neither has the correct answer they are two sides of the same coin, and only work when they work together.
My point is I started following her writing as she writes not only well but does not seem to have political ties to either side. I saw nothing in this article that could be construed by a logical person as a defense of Trump. She simply stated the practices currently being used by the left and how they are contrary to their supposed beliefs.
If the left actually wants a chance in 2018 or 2020 they should actually be paying attention to opinions like this, as the author is not theonly one that holds them. The left lost the last election to a man that should never have been able to win. They lost because of the candidate they forced down the base, but even more than that, they lost because they lost the trust of the people. The lost the election because of the same practices the author just explained. And after losing, they continue to make it worse, by their actions to date. During the election they complained of what the right would do when they lost, then when they lost, they turned around and committed to every action they previously decried and then some.
Now if you want change in the upcoming elections you had better pay attention, because you just lost two special elections you should have been able to take like a cake walk, and there will be more. I know the argument but we were close, so we are almost there! Wake Up!!! You were close, So What!!! You won the popular vote by three major cities in the last election, but you still lost the election. Since November there has been a major smear campaign against Trump and the Republicans, and you still lost the special elections. Do you know the definition of Insanity, it is quite simply when you do the same thing over and over and expect the same results. It is not working, it will not work, come up with something else…
