Today I will

**Introvert special — no real people to talk to due to Thanksgiving recess! Just fillin’ up those voicemail boxes. (voicemailboxes? voice mailboxes?)**

http://echothroughthefog.cordeliadillon.com/post/153393286626/how-to-call-your-reps-when-you-have-social-anxiety

  1. Keep bugging Speaker Ryan, with a slightly different tact (that doesn’t require talking to anyone!)
  • call his office 202–225–0600
  • Press 2 to hear a survey about the Affordable Care Act (preceded by 1 min sermon on why he wants to dismantle it)
  • Press 1 to express support for Obamacare

2. Take a deep breath and read about this eight year old in Louisiana who was the target of a hate crime — seriously injured defending his younger sister, at the hands of pre-teen classmates. Donate towards his medical expenses.

3. Call everyone on the House Oversight Committee

  • Pressuring them to open investigation into the conflicts of interest in Trump’s financials. Including but not limited to

(a) His children: The inclusion of his daughter Ivanka in diplomatic meetings (Japanese PM) while she’s still running his businesses is just the latest indication that we may soon find ourselves living in a kleptocracy

(b) Foreign policy: Full extent of Trump’s business interests abroad is unknown because of those damn tax returns, but even that in itself should be considered a threat to national security.

This pre-election piece on the topic is a work of journalistic art:

Despite their mandate of OVERSIGHT, this committee isn’t necessarily the friendliest to this cause. But I’m going to keep pushing. Because we brought their phone lines down on Friday :)
